The people of Moore, Oklahoma are working to recover from a devastating tornado that destroyed their town on May 20th, but they will still need plenty of assistance in the weeks and months to come.

You can help by donating via The Salvation Army’s secure website – www.Donate.SalvationArmyUSA.org – or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (725-2769).

According to a video from the Salvation Army Today YouTube channel (below), monetary donations allow the organization “the flexibility and purchasing power [they] need to respond to the immediate needs of disaster survivors.”

The money raised is used to purchase necessities in or near the site of the disaster. That approach infuses the local economy with much-needed cash and eliminates the high costs of shipping in goods from other areas of the country.

Within six days of the tornado’s touchdown, The Salvation Army had provided 25,783 meals, more than 40,000 drinks, and more than 32,000 snacks. Salvation Army employees, officers and volunteers handed out 197 clean-up kits, prayed with nearly 2,700 people, and logged more than 6,400 man-hours to help the citizens of Moore. And they’re still there.

And Tom’s wife, NeeCee Lee, is the incoming President of the Northeast Florida Women’s Auxiliary, a position she’s held once before.

Living along the Atlantic coast, we all know how nature’s immense power can turn lives upside down. So please, do what you can to help those who are now suffering in Oklahoma.

Thank you…from everyone at Lee & Cates Glass.
