Here at Lee & Cates, we know our work is always on display, but a recent project at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is getting a little more attention than most of our work.

We recently installed a 3’ x 8’ piece of glass for the new manatee recovery pool that debuted at the zoo back in February. The glass is 1 5/8” thick and is made from a combination of 3 sheets of 1/2″ tempered glass and 2 layers of polyvinyl butyral laminate and can hold 50,000 gallons of water as well as a 1,000-pound manatee.
