Insurance Claims & Warranties for Windshield Repair & Replacement

Insurance Claims

Insurance May Provide a Free Replacement

Florida law states that if you have comprehensive coverage insurance with a Florida-based company, you’ll pay no deductible for a repair or full windshield replacement. That means there’s no out-of-pocket expense for you.

Don’t Be Steered to Another Glass Company

In most states, it’s illegal for an auto insurance company, network, or third-party administrator (TPA) to steer you toward a specific glass company, no matter how subtle their suggestion. You have the right to select the company that will repair or replace your windshield.

When you choose Lee & Cates Glass, you’ll get a National Lifetime Warranty, decades of experience, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and original equipment equivalent (OEE) glass parts, outstanding customer service, and a local staff that values your business. We meet or exceed all insurance company requirements.

We Can Help With Insurance Claims or Questions

Lee & Cates Glass is an approved provider of auto glass repair and replacement services for most insurance companies in the United States. We’re also a Lynx Services provider and a member of most insurance networks.

How Long Will the Initial Phone Call Take?

If you’ll file a claim to cover the cost of windshield repair with insurance, your call could take 10 to 15 minutes because we have to submit your claim and receive your insurance company’s approval. If you’ll be self-paying, your call could take just 5 minutes.

What Information Will I Need to Provide During the Call?

Along with the location, we’ll need the make, model, and year of the vehicle with damaged glass, as well as the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). In some cases, we will need additional information about your vehicle’s current windshield and technology features to determine the correct replacement parts needed. If you’ll be filing an insurance claim for the glass damage, we’ll need the name of your insurance company and your policy number, as well as the type of damage and the date the damage occurred.

Windshield Replacement — National Lifetime Warranty

Lee & Cates Glass is focused on doing it right the first time, and we always stand behind our work — no matter where you may be living at the time. We guarantee the quality of our windshield replacement with a lifetime nationwide warranty* that protects against manufacturing material defects, air and water leaks, and workmanship for as long as you own your vehicle. * Please note, this warranty does not cover leakage or defects caused by rusting of the vehicle body. Lee & Cates Glass, Inc.’s sole responsibility is as set forth above. In no event shall Lee & Cates Glass, Inc. be liable for consequential damages. This limited warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied. There are no other warranties which extend beyond the description on the face hereof.

Pinchweld Rust Policy

What is Rust?

Rust is the reddish-brown coating that is formed on metal through an oxidation process where iron or steel is exposed to water and air. Rusts consists mainly of ferric oxide and ferric hydroxide, and these chemical compounds prevent proper bonding with adhesives used in windshield installation.

Rust starts slowly and develops over time. In the beginning stages, the rust coating is very slight and can usually be removed with no real skill. However, in the later stages, when the metal is completely destroyed, the missing metal needs to be replaced by a skilled auto body technician

Rust & Windshield Replacement

We will NOT install a windshield if there is rust in the pinchweld because it will prevent the urethane from adhering to the windshield properly. The rusted area MUST be repaired before installation. If the rust is in the early stages, we may be able to remove the rust with tools and apply a primer for proper adhesion. However, if the rusted area requires repair work beyond our skills, then we request that your vehicle be repaired by an auto body expert before we move forward

Visible Rust: Rust that is visible before windshield removal begins.

Discovered Rust: Rust that is discovered after the removal of the windshield.

We will let you know if the rust needs to be repaired before we remove or repair the damaged windshield. We are happy to help you find an area body shop that will repair the affected area.

Under no circumstances can we start the job until the rusted area is repaired
